Born in Sombor (Serbia) in 1990, Sonja Šarić studied at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts (Germany).

She took part in master сlasses of the leading singers. Awarded scholarships by the Walter und Charlotte Hamel Stiftung (2011) and Richard Wagner Society (2012).

In 2011, Šarić made her opera debut as Contessa Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at the E.T.A. Hoffmann Theater Bamberg (Germany). In 2014, she performed Manon in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at the Baden-Baden Festival. In 2015, she took part in the new production of R. Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier with Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival and made her debut as Maria Stuarda in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava.

Since 2016 Sonja Šarić is a member of Opera Studio at Oper Graz.

In 2012, she was awarded First Prize and two Special Prizes – For the best performance of a Mozart’s aria and Audience Prize – at the International Antonín Dvořák Competition. In 2013, she received First Prize at the 7th International Competition for the Youth in Oldenburg, followed by Third Prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition in Berlin. In 2015, she was awarded First Prize at the Anneliese Rothenberger Competition. In 2017, Sonja Šarić received Grand Prix and Gold Medal at the International Maria Callas Grand Prix in Opera, Athens (Greece).
